The Pawleys Island Concert Band is a wholly open community band serving adult amateur musicians throughout Horry and Georgetown County. We expect that band participants either have or plan to achieve a minimum HS level of playing ability. Some of our bandmates are professional musicians, music teachers, and/or college trained musicians; most aren’t. Most of the band are folks who played in high school or college and want to continue doing so. Some took a break of many decades before deciding to return to playing. Motivated high school aged students are welcome with explicit permission of a parent and their primary music teacher. For as long as we continue to enjoy the generosity of the community and funding of the SC Arts Council, the band charges no dues or fees to participate.
You will need to provide your instrument, accessories, and a folding music stand. We don’t audition, and we don’t assign part seats. Which part you play is up to what you’d like to play and discussion within the section.

Jazz Band rehearses from 5:45 pm-6:45pm
Concert Band rehearses from 7:00 pm to 8:30pm
